In order to do a fair and honest comparison of who offers the Best Protein Water in the marketplace today we would need to go and buy the top 50 brands of whey protein, hire a focus group, ensure that all the mixing processes were standardized, and obtain some real statistics from a broad spectrum of participants.
However, when conducting research on the topic of who makes the best tasting highest rated whey protein, most of the sites we have visited offer a biased and limited review of the many products available.
Best Whey Protein Selection Criteria Guidelines
Several factors come into play when making a whey protein supplement purchase decision and the most common criteria are as follows:
1. Taste – The number one rule on taste is this: The more fats and carbohydrates that have been removed from the whey by any form of denaturing process, the more bitter the whey becomes.

However, if you look hard you can find some makers who use “All Natural” organic sweeteners, like Stevia, for example, as well as, the use of naturally occurring sweet whey in their formula.

2. Texture – Does your whey product mix well with other substances like water, milk, yogurt, and etcetera? Is it gritty, lumpy, or does it have a chalky taste? Often time’s bulk whey producers will use certain types of synthetic additives in order to increase the “mix-ability” (solubility) of the protein powder in the form of emulsifiers.
And it goes without saying that many of the “ingredient list” posted on these “commercial” whey products contain some pretty bizarre sounding stuff, i.e. many fillers, emulsifiers, stiffeners, and such are being used in food products today which often have a dual use, as many industrial products are made from these very same substances.
As a rule, if you cannot pronounce it or discover that it’s a non-Nature-Made element, that is, versus a man-made synthetic trying to replicate some natural occurring ingredient, then don’t eat it!
3. Ingredients – The bottom line here is how “Pure” is the whey protein Action whey protein and/or how tainted is it with chemical names that are difficult to pronounce, much less having a sound understanding what a particular ingredient does and why is it in my whey product?

4. Amino Acid Profile – If your whey protein powder does not provide a list of Amino Acids which are in the whey product you are considering, then find one that does.
By omitting and/or not making available to the consumer the actual percentage of the amino acid profile of the product, it clearly shows that the manufacturer is obviously hiding something or is offering you an inferior or sub-standard whey protein that cannot stand up to the competition on this front.
If they were proud of their product, then why not tout this competitive advantage of superiority? This chart simply allows the consumer to compare apples to apples.
The above-average producers do this, but the cheaper and least expensive whey products never bother providing you with this kind of information. Kind of makes you wonder doesn’t it?
If the producer takes pride in what they are selling you, then they should not have a challenge with sharing these facts with you.
5. Your Why? Why are you using a whey protein in the first place?
Are you consuming a whey protein powder to help increase muscle mass, as a meal replacement for a diet, or are you using whey protein to help boost the immune system by increasing your own glutathione production?
Of any one group out there in the current demographics it is the body-builders who consume the most whey protein powders, protein shakes, bars, and etcetera; however, a growing number are health-conscience individuals are discovering the many benefits of consuming a whey protein, as well.
